Since 1 October 2021, one of our multi-purpose vessels, the "GÄLLNÖ", has been part of the funding programme NaMKü (Sustainable Modernisation of Coastal Vessels). This programme was launched by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) to provide targeted support for the modernisation of coastal ships with regards to climate protection and reducing air pollutants.

Specifically, the GÄLLNÖ project is about "measures to improve energy efficiency". In detail, these consist of:

• the installation of hydrodynamically optimised propeller blades
• the installation of a hydrodynamically optimised rudder blade
• optimisation of the engine control system
• the application of a low-friction anti-fouling paint.

The combination of these measures is expected to reduce the vessel's energy consumption by about 15% and thus make an active contribution to lowering emissions.
